I haven't picked up a pencil let alone a pen to draw for a long time but lately I've had a surge of inspiration. I usually draw random objects that reflect the current state of my thoughts and feelings which often leave the viewer somewhat confused.

Let me explain.

In this piece there are several elements that represent interesting associations to my life.

Word Metro: For some reason I have this fascination with Paris..I'm not sure why and I've never been but it gives me a feeling of love, warmth and splendor. I have a poster of a street lamp in Paris with the word "Metro".

Geometric Shape: This shape is made entirely by a series of lines situated in various angles. It's funny, I actually learned how to draw this in my 7th grade art class. Stuck ever since so I continue to draw it.

Glass Tumbler: One night having long conversations with the roommates....a glass of Black Label always makes for good times..hence the glass..

Tea Pot: This is a very important tea pot that my grandma in Hong Kong drinks from every morning. The intricate Chinese painting motif envelopes the ceramic piece. I love it. It's a little smaller than the size of a grape fruit and it's definitely very adorable.

Plant with popcorn: I dunno, just thought of it ;P

Car: My awesome roomy just gave me this CD from Japan and it showed several vintage cars within the insert...

Message in a Bottle: I just finished the book by Nicholas Sparks. My coworker told me to draw it (not knowing I read the book) and my best friend just told me to draw a bottle (she's thinking Grey Goose).

Drawing is refreshing to me. It expresses something words can never articulate. When I draw single objects, I try to draw connections between each picture in order to create an art piece that views as a whole. It's hard sometimes but I tend to find connections in order to make my sketches flow. Here's to more drawing =).
